Como espécie de contrapartida às 'expedições filosóficas' do século XVIII, a série de fotografias Aqui, onde o mar se acabou propõe uma investigação sensível sobre Portugal – país de dimensões ínfimas que se lançou aos mares, reclamou a posse de mais terras que qualquer outra nação na História e que ainda hoje parece sonhar ser um império ultramarino e tropical.

As a kind of counterpart to the 'philosophical expeditions' of the 18th century, the series of photographs Here, where the sea ended, proposes a poetic investigation about Portugal – a country of very small dimensions that launched itself into the seas, claimed the possession of more land than any other nation in the world and which still seems to dream of being an overseas and tropical empire.
